Ellen Millard
I am a qualified proofreader and editor with experience working on a variety of material, from academic dissertations to marketing collateral. I also hold a First Class BA (Hons) degree in English and American Literature.

I am accredited with the College of Media and Publishing and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
Services
I provide proofreading and editing services for a variety of copy including, but not limited to: blog posts, advertising content, letters, brochures, CVs, academic essays and dissertations, and manuscripts. I edit and proofread these with the aim of expanding your communicative outreach, whilst ensuring that your content is clear and your author voice remains untouched.

I provide a free sample edit of larger pieces of work to demonstrate my proofreading and editing style to you. This also helps me to get a feel for the level of proofreading and / or editing that you require. Please see below for the sample edit word limit for academic copy:

Academic Essays - up to 250 words
Academic Dissertations - up to 1,000 words

I will proofread your work for spelling mistakes and grammatical errors to ensure that the meaning of your content is understood. This will include checking that words are capitalised correctly, and that the appropriate punctuation is used.
If required, I will proofread and edit your work to one of two levels: medium or heavy.

Medium Editing
Medium editing is the next step on from proofreading, where I will also ensure that your writing style is consistent and your work is accurate.

Heavy Editing
Heavy editing is the most in-depth editing service that I provide. I will not only cover the checks of spelling, grammar and style consistency, but I will also ensure that the copy is clear and well organised and offer suggestions for rewrites, which I am happy to undertake once discussed.
Pricing
Prices will vary depending on the level of proofreading or editing that you require. Providing me with a sample edit for larger pieces of work will help me to determine the overall price, however I will work alongside you to ensure that this fits your budget as much as possible.
